Goosander getting closer
With the weather better than was forecast I got a chance to do a bit of Bird Atlas survey work done. My chosen tetrad included the mouth of the river in Ballycastle, the area the Goosanders have frequented on and off since November.

Today there was only one bird present, though this time on Tow River during the survey. This may be where the bird 'disappears' to from time to time.

By the time the hour long survey was completed the bird was back on the main river and for a change the sun was out, so I managed to get a few shots on passing.

Also present in the tetrad were a single Twite and a pair of Dippers amongst the almost 40 species recorded in an hour.
