A Partridge in a Fir Tree
31/01/2010
Not a native but fun to photograph
Only got out for an hour today. I wanted to check out a local forest as a possible location for a photo assignment I have set myself.
On the way back towards my car I saw a Red legged Partidge on the forestry track ahead of me. Obviously released at some stage by local hunters I thought I would try and get a shot myself.
For once the light came good as I made my approach slowly towards where I had last seen the bird. In the end I managed to get within 10m of quite a wary individual.
After a little time the bird decided to wander off into the trees and out of the light.
