Chestnut (Conistra vaccinii)

One of the more common species of late autumn through the winter in the woodlands. More common than the similar Dark Chestnut. The larvae feed on the leaves of a range of trees, including Birch and Oak. The adult can be seen from September through to spring, when the weathers mild.
