Rare duck of unknown origin

Lough Beg provides a couple of unusual visitors
Today I was working around the shores of Lough Beg and whilst out I spotted this bird in one of the bays - a Ruddy Shelduck.
Apparently the bird has been about for a few weeks, but it's origins are unknown - whilst it has a full wing and no leg rings were seen it may be impossible to rule out an escapee or a bird from a feral population.
A bird with much better credentials was a Spoonbill seen in flight at the southern end of the lough.
