Viviparous Lizard

Viviparous Lizard

The common or viviparous lizard is Ireland’s only native reptile. They can be found on a variety of open habitats and I frequently photograph them along the North Antrim cliffs as they warm themselves in the morning sun.

The loss of upland heath and coastal dunes pose a continuing threat.
