Sooty Shearwater over the North Atlantic

Sooty Shearwater over the North Atlantic

This species of the southern oceans makes a clockwise migration up the western Atlantic to spend the northern summer in the north Atlantic. Then in summer/autumn it moves down through Irish waters to return to the southern ocean to breed. In strong inshore winds in autumn sometimes they come close enough to shore to see.
